“Is it true that tight hamstrings are related to lower back pain?”

Good question.

Yes, your hamstrings and glutes are directly linked to your lower back. Problems at either muscle group can lead to problems at the spine.

But before you assume tight hamstrings are the issue and spend hours stretching and “downward dogging”, know this. Most of the time, “tight hamstrings” are not the culprit. It’s usually mobility, muscle performance, or motor control issues at the pelvis and hip.

Have a Physical Therapist or Strength and Conditioning Coach check out your pelvis. A thorough movement screening can give you loads of information on what specific movements or techniques your body needs to improve your hip movement fluidity.

Heal. Move. SCREEN. Evolve.
