Developed over 30 years ago by Dr. Kenzo Kase in Japan, Kinesio Tape was named after the term kinesiology —- the study of human movement. Dr. Kase’s idea was to use a tape on the skin to influence neuro-muscular and neuro-fascial systems to bring stressed tissues back to homeostasis. The body would then, in theory, heal itself.

“Our physical therapists at MovEvolution Physical Therapy use Kinesio Tape to support their client’s joints, facilitate or inhibit muscles, redirect fascia and control pain and swelling days after therapy,” says Richard Symister, MSPT, CKTP, CSCS, Owner of MovEvolution Physical Therapy.
